"Rondo K511 is one of his piano masterpieces and was the first major work composed... after returning from Prague and feeling elated with the success of Le nozze di Figaro. It is marked Andante and its form, ABACA, is expansive. The tranquil main theme is constantly subjected to ingenious decoration whilst the more animated B section is ermeated by inventive chromaticism... The central C section provides marvellous contrast... adds an unexpectedly poignant colour."
