It is no good having lewd words one cannot hear, even if they are all included in the booklet...so full marks for the City Waites and their swinging dialect style...items here are sometimes accompanied, sometimes not, but they are made here into lively entertainment.
Penguin Guide 3 Stars

A taste of the broadside ballad culture which pervaded the Restoration and all to easily forgotten...The Maid's Complaint is a remarkably spontanious scene, led by soprano Lucie Skeaping complete with a bunch of drunks who join in, late...Good fun but not very clean!
